Co-create with Daily Goods Design Labs: Wearable Tech, MakerWear, and future KitCars at MakerFestival 2018

Create your own device_IMG_0349 copy.jpg

Join Daily Goods Design Labs for design and co-creation events on wearables, devices and future cars, July 7-8 at Maker Festival Toronto (Toronto Reference Library).

DGDL will be popping up at The Sandbox an exciting new co-create space on the 2nd Floor. From here, throughout the weekend, we will be demonstrating some of our works-in-progress including the create-your-own future car kits and MakerWear garments (designed with makers, designers and innovators in mind). Co-creating with us is free, but spaces are limited.

Budding designers can also ‘pre-book’ a place on our Make, Create and Innovate: Devices and Wearables workshop, tickets $10-15 from Eventbrite, to learn about designing future devices and wearables.

Stay tuned to our Twitter, @dgdesignlabs for times and live info.

We look forward to meeting you at the following…

Saturday, 7th July 2018

2:15 - 3:15pm

Make, Create and Innovate Devices and Wearables with Daily Goods Design LABS (DGDL) at the Maker Festivalpre-book tickets here.

In this workshop you will understand the basics of the design process and simple prototyping techniques used to create future devices and wearables. You will choose from a variety of form factors (shapes and sizes); think about what features you'd like your device or wearable to have based on how you communicate; entertain and plan out the things you do on a daily basis. Come build a paper and/or cardboard prototype and learn how to start the design process with us!

Learn more and see one of our most recent design workshops at the Ontario Science Centre.

Saturday & Sunday, July 7- 8th, Time TBD

Create your own future car, Sandbox drop-in and demonstration

See our most recent works in progress, and let us know what you think about:

  • Our programmable KITCar inspired by future cars such as the DeLorean

  • Have a play at designing your own fantasy future car

These are drop-in style demonstrations and workshops to gather feedback and suggestions. Demonstrations will start on the hour. Limited-edition prototypes are available for creation and testing purposes. Build your own car to take likely 20-30 mins. All welcome to listen and learn.

MakerWear Co-create, Sandbox drop-in

We want you to come try and comment on the latest MakerWear prototypes: MakerApron, MakerCoat and LabCoat.

Play a part in the design process through your feedback, thoughts and suggestions on the type of garment that is most suitable for you. See previous work in progress presentations of MakerWear here.
